Sun is my second album, following my debut album Illusions. It has taken me almost 4 years to finish Sun, and over that course I have moved all over the United States, from Los Angeles to Miami, finally ending up in Seattle where the album was finalized. The inspiration for Sun came, probably not surprisingly, from the sun itself. Sun gives life, it vitalizes, energizes, comforts and heals. We are able to sustain because of it, and so I think we owe this giant ball of fire more than a nod of appreciation. Since I am far better with musical notes than words I will let my personal hymn to the Sun do the talking. I sincerely hope you enjoy the effort, and I appreciate all the amazing support I have gained since the release of Illusions in 2011. Musically, Sun is the natural continuation of Illusions. It is built on the same musical framework that I have developed and honed over the decades. As always the challenge lay in keeping it deceptively simple, but the process turned out to be anything but that. In an attempt to measure up, up to the enormity of the Sun, I decided to record an unusually big orchestra. Just the string section consists of over 100 musicians. In total some of the pieces feature over 200 musicians at the same time! I created a soundscape that envelops and hugs the listener, with musicians seated in a circle, projecting the deep frequency sounds inwards, and the higher and brighter sounds outwards, much like the rays of the Sun.Due to the complexity of this technique, developing the music has taken quite a bit longer than normal, but it's been an amazing journey and I'm beyond excited to share it with you.
