Ultra Focus installation in Cubase SX (Mac OS X)

Ultra Focus is provided on a Double-sided DVD («flipper») The first side figures the install files, and the first «.DAT» file (native UVI Format Soundbank) when the second one includes the second «.DAT» file. You need to copy first the «Ultra Focus folder» folder (containing the «Ultra Focus Presets» folder and the first «.dat» file : this represents more than 4 GB of data : please allow a little while for the copy to be completed and enough room )on your hard drive, then turn the DVD on the other side to copy the second «.dat» file INSIDE the «Ultra Focus folder» folder previously created. Then (and then only) launch the OS X Installer and choose Cubase Plug-In (VST X). Independently of the selected destination for the “.dat” files, the plug-in will automatically be installed in the right folder for your sequencer as well as aliases of the two “.dat” files and of the «Ultra Focus Presets» Folder. If you don’t know what an alias is, consult the online Mac OS help. The operating rule with Ultra Focus : Ultra Focus plug-in must always find the corresponding aliases in the same folder.The aliases must finish with the letter t of “.dat” and it must point to a valid data file.Therefore if you later decide to move the .dat file to another disk, simply delete the aliases and create new ones that you will place in the correct plug-ins folder. Remember the alias name must be exactly: “Ultra Focus1.dat” and “Ultra Focus2.dat”. With Cubase SX Mac it’s in : Library folder ->Audio folder -> PlugIns folder -> Vst folder. Now let’s use Ultra Focus. 1- Launch CUBASE SX 2- Open the VST Instrument device and click on the plug-ins list, 3- Turn the instrument on, then click on the Edit Button to open the main window of Ultra Focus. The first time you open Ultra Focus after launching your sequencer, you will get the authorization window: this is perfectly normal. Click OK if you just want to play your Plugsound, but be aware that this window will come back every time you open Plugsound in a sequence. Please read the authorization section in the manual for more information. Now select a MIDI track and choose Ultra Focus in your list of MIDI desti- nations.
